Colares UFO Encounters

1977

In the year 1977, the Brazilian island of Colares experienced an intriguing series of visits from unidentified flying objects that left residents both fascinated and deeply perplexed. A wide variety of UFOs were reported during this time: some were large and imposing, while others were smaller and more elusive, with shapes ranging from classic saucers to elongated cigar forms. These mysterious objects exhibited diverse characteristics, including both luminous and non-luminous appearances, adding to the enigma surrounding them. Remarkably, these unidentified crafts consistently appeared from the northern horizon, arriving daily from the expansive sky and, on occasion, emerging from the depths of the surrounding waters, over an extended period that lasted for several months.

Frequently, inhabitants of the Island were targeted by enigmatic aerial objects emitting bizarre, potent rays, resulting in numerous injuries and two fatalities. The Army swiftly stepped in to probe the incidents, with the media diligently tracking the developments. Altogether, 35 individuals sustained injuries from the mysterious rays, prompting a wave of frightened residents to evacuate the Island subsequently.

The remarkable and intriguing events were primarily focused on the city of Colares, which is home to approximately 2,000 inhabitants and is situated on Colares Island in the beautiful Pará region, located at the delta of the Amazon River on the northeastern coast of Brazil. However, it is worth noting that the entire surrounding region also experienced the same mysterious phenomenon, which, in turn, attracted numerous dedicated ufologists and researchers to the city in search of answers and deeper insights.

In August 1977, the island of Colares became the epicenter of an unusual occurrence that the locals referred to as the "Chupa-chupa" phenomenon. This event garnered significant attention and concern from the community. Mysterious luminous objects appeared over several towns in the area. These objects frequently emitted slender beams of light that targeted individuals. Those who were touched by the beams often passed out and later reported a strange form of anemia, feeling as though some of their blood had been extracted by the bizarre rays.

One local fisherman, Manoel João de Oliveira Filho, a 44-year-old man with a passion for the sea, who is married and resides at No. 64 Rua Carneiro de Mendonça in a quaint coastal town, was making his way to the beach alongside a few close friends and fellow fishing enthusiasts early one bright and sunny morning, eager for the adventure and potential rewards that awaited them on this day of fishing.

Before reaching their boats, they keenly observed a truly peculiar object shaped "like an umbrella," hovering gracefully at an altitude of approximately four meters above the sandy expanse of Rio Novo beach. A strikingly bright white light shone intensely from beneath it, casting a weird, otherworldly glow on the surrounding area, which was otherwise illuminated by the natural brilliance of the setting sun. No sound was detectable emanating from it as they stood there in awe, absorbing the strange sight before them. The object then moved away silently towards Machadinho, inexplicably turning off the light as it went, leaving the observers in a mix of wonder and curiosity.

A carpenter named João Dias Costa, who is aged 44, along with a local fisherman known as Joao da Cruz Silva, who is 54 years old, both residing in the charming town of Colares, witnessed the infamous "luminous spheres." These peculiar entities are so greatly feared by the townsfolk due to their "low skimming swoops," which have become a source of both fascination and trepidation among the community.

Another man from the small town of Colares, Sr. Zacarias dos Santos Barata, who is now 74 years old, had quite the astonishing experience when he saw glowing balls of light on two separate nights. The first encounter occurred when the mysterious object descended from the direction of the vast Bay of Marajo and, in a matter of moments, rapidly vanished towards the interior of Colares Island, leaving him in awe. On the second night, he spotted another ball, this one distinctly blue in color, that gracefully flew over the local football field. "It lit up all the trees around the field with an eerie glow and then astonishingly vanished towards the town's center," said Sr. Zacarias, his eyes still wide with wonder as he recounted the events.

Sr. Sebastiao Vernek "Zizi" Miranda meticulously described his extraordinary experience as follows: "I was there with my wife, Palmira, in front of the church on the sea-front, when at about 8.00 pm, we saw an intensely vivid "orangish" light coming in from the sea towards the town. As it approached, it climbed, and then, moving rapidly, vanished towards the inner part of the Island."

The barber, Carlos Cardoso de Paula, who is currently 49 years old, residing at Travessa Deodoro da Fonseca No. 231, had a significantly closer encounter with the mysterious "lights" in the night sky. He vividly describes the experience, noting the intense brightness and peculiar movements of the phenomenon, as he relates his remarkable story: "Everybody else was asleep. I was just still having my last smoke when suddenly a ball of fire entered our house up near the ridgepole of the gable. It started shooting round and round the room, and then finally came right close to my hammock.

"It ran up my right leg as far as the knee (without touching my skin). I watched with much curiosity as it then moved across to the other leg. Then I started to feel feeble and sleepy. My cigarette fell from my hand and I came to and let out a yell. The fireball quickly vanished and everybody woke up.

"I think it had been searching for a vein in my body but didn’t manage to do so. As its brightness grew, I felt a sort of heat coming from it."

Worker Raimundo Costa Leite, who is exceptionally well known throughout the town of Colares for his remarkable skill in creating and meticulously repairing fishing nets that aid local fishermen, took the time to share and describe his intriguing personal experience: "At about 4.00 in the early morning, I went with my pal Orivaldo Malaquias Pinheiro to fish off the beach at Cajueiro. As I recall it, Baixinho shouted, 'Look! There it is!' and took to his heels, leaving me alone on the beach. The craft was of the size and shape of a helicopter, made no noise, and was flying very high.

I could have taken a pot-shot at it if I had had a gun with me. I was terrified when the machine shone a sort of searchlight down on the beach. That light was sweeping the ground, illuminating everything! It was a bluish light

"It made it easier for me to see this because the craft had several small reddish lights beneath its front part... The craft seemed to be seeking something on the ground.

"I was scared that it would touch me and, despite my poor physical condition, I managed to run quite a distance, and then Baixinho returned and helped me. The object had come from the direction of the sea and it headed off into the inner part of the Island."

Actually, so many more people reported being attacked by beams of light from small UFOs in this area that only few of them are mentioned here.

On the crisp evening of October 20, three women unexpectedly found themselves struck in the breast area by mysterious beams of light that illuminated the surrounding area.: "All three were overcome by tremendous nervous tension and an unknown sort of lassitude as though they were receiving constant electric shocks," was written in a local newspaper a newspaper.

On the evening of October 29, during a quiet evening at home, Benedito Campos and his seventeen-year-old wife, Silvia Mara, found themselves engrossed in conversation when they suddenly spotted an unusual oval, silvery object hovering nearby. This mysterious craft was emitting a vibrant greenish beam, which resembled a powerful searchlight, directed straight towards the room where they were lying together in a moment of tranquility. Filled with curiosity, they approached a small window and, as they did so, the beam shot in through it, and made straight for Silvia, throwing her into a sort of benumbed trance-like state."

Silvia, who was heavily pregnant at the time, then unexpectedly fainted, whereupon two mysterious entities entered the house, each carrying something that unmistakably resembled a golden torch. Once again, the beam struck Silvia, this time making contact with her in the left arm at the level of the wrist.

"Her veins seemed to 'rise up out of the body' so swollen were they by the beam striking them." he said.

Later, while visiting the home of a neighbor, Benedito was also unexpectedly and briefly paralyzed by a mysterious light beam that seemed to envelop him. Fearing the potential consequences of this encounter, the concerned husband and wife quickly made their way to the Mosqueiro Medical Clinic, traveling under the cover of darkness in a small boat. Remarkably, they noticed that the UFO, which had been hovering nearby, followed them closely but made no further attempts to harm them during this tense and unnerving journey.

They remained there in that quiet and secluded place for three long days while the wife slowly and gradually recovered from her harrowing ordeal. However, Benedito found himself engulfed in a state of severe depression that lingered for several days. His motor functions were significantly disturbed, and as his mother reports, he was often found weeping frequently and appearing utterly lost in his overwhelming sorrow, as if he were trapped in a despair that he could not escape.

The UFO activity over Colares Island was so remarkably intense that the local inhabitants began to speculate that the mysterious "Chupa-chupas" were attempting to establish some form of contact with them. This intriguing perspective was prominently expressed by Sr. Raimundo Ferreira "Mimi" Monteiro, who remains convinced that these unusual craft were emerging either directly from the sea or perhaps from some hidden underwater base situated in the Bay of Maraja, potentially in the region of the Caldiero.

Alfredo Bastos Filho, a former mayor of the town, confirmed this statement and elaborated further by saying: "Yes, indeed I can tell you, there wasn’t a moment of peace. The populace were terrified by that "Chupa-chupa" affair. I even managed to see one of the injured victims myself - Dona Mirota, a lady who was receiving medical treatment at the Health Clinic."

The locals became so frightened by the strange occurrences that many of the women and children hurriedly left town in search of safety and reassurance. The men who remained behind, determined to protect their homes and families, lit bonfires to mount a vigilant guard throughout the long, dark nights. They bravely let off fireworks and banged on tins with fervor whenever they spotted the ominous Chupa-chupas approaching, desperately trying to ward off the mystery that threatened their peaceful lives.

Others chose to lock themselves in their homes, paralyzed by an overwhelming fear of the mysterious phenomenon occurring outside. It was mentioned later that the more noise people collectively made—whether through shouting or banging or object, or the more bonfires and fireworks they lit to drive away the unease, the closer the craft appeared to come to the ground.

By November of the year 1977, Dr. Wellaide Cecim Carvalho, the dedicated physician in charge of the health unit on Colares Island, attended to approximately 35 individuals who claimed to have been affected by the mysterious and strange light phenomenon. In her thorough examination, she took numerous blood samples from these patients and concluded that the victims were suffering from symptoms of generalized hypothermia, along with persistent superficial chronic headaches, various burn sensations, intense episodes of heat, feelings of nausea, body tremors, giddiness, and a profound sense of asthenia. Additionally, her observations noted that they exhibited very small orifices in the skin, indicative of where they were struck by the peculiar rays.

In her notes, she wrote: "All of them had suffered lesions to the face or the thoracic area." The lesions, looking like radiation injuries, "began with intense reddening of the skin in the affected area. Later the hair would fall out and the skin would turn black. There was no pain, only a slight warmth. One also noticed small puncture marks on the skin. The victims were men and women of varying ages, without any pattern."

In describing their experiences with these mysterious light beams, most victims claimed that they felt an overwhelming sense of both curiosity and dread. This intense emotional response often accompanied the visual phenomenon. Many individuals reported a feeling of being drawn toward the lights, as if they possessed a magnetic quality that was difficult to resist.t "They were immediately immobilized as if a heavy weight pushed against their chest. The beam was about [seven or eight centimetres] in diameter and white in color. It never hunted for them but hit them suddenly.

"When they tried to scream, no sound would come out, but their eyes remained open. The beam felt hot, 'almost as hot as a cigarette burn,' barely tolerable. "After a few minutes the column of light would slowly retract and disappear." Most symptoms usually disappeared after seven days. "

At Agulhas Fincadas, Mrs. Maria Lopes, a long-time inhabitant of the picturesque Vila Gorete, recounts her intriguing and unsettling experience involving peculiar "strange devices" that reportedly have the ability to absorb energy from human beings. These mysterious entities are commonly referred to as Chupa-Chupa, and their presence has sparked significant trepidation and concern among the local community.

"I saw an object to settle quiet in the bushes here close... It had left two men and a woman, who had started to move with two fishing," counts Maria.

Other individuals present in the location had been completely paralyzed, both physically and emotionally, when they found themselves observing the astonishing and surreal scene unfolding right before their eyes.

Many individuals had seriously hurt themselves while desperately trying to escape from one of the bizarre and enigmatic objects that had been sighted. In numerous cases, the unmistakable marks left by the rays on the victims' skin were alarming indicators that manifested as up to eight distinct small holes. In these unnerving occurrences, the term Chupa-Chupa gained significant credence, as many of the affected individuals had reported losing up to approximately 300 ml of blood as a direct result of these peculiar and troubling wounds.

This was the intriguing case of Claudomira, a long-time resident of the Island of Colares. She passionately claims that her family, along with many others, found it increasingly difficult to sleep soundly at night due to a growing fear and anxiety surrounding the mysterious devices spotted in the area. This anxiety has deeply affected their nightly rest, leaving them on edge and increasingly worried about what might happen next.

"On one of these days, after midnight, I woke up because of a strong flash, a sort of focused bright green light ray that came down from the top roof to my left chest. I tried to shout, but my voice did not function. I felt an exquisite heat... Later, that beam of light diminished and I saw that I was burnt."

Claudomira reported that she sighted an unusual object in the sky, which bore a striking resemblance to an umbrella. From this peculiar object emerged a being with clear, almost translucent skin, captivating oriental eyes, and notably large ears that seemed to enhance its mysterious presence.

According to her vivid account, the peculiar creature was dressed in tight-fitting green clothing that clung to its unusual form, and it wielded a small pistol in its hand, which emitted an intense and luminous beam of light. At this very moment, Claudomira experienced an unsettling sensation as if countless tiny needles were perforating her skin right on her breast, leaving her both bewildered and frightened.

"After this, I felt a migraine headache and a great weakness, that left me collapsed for several days."

The following day, she was directed to the Sanitary Unit of the town, where she received personalized attention and care from the highly regarded Doctor Wellaide Cecim Carvalho. After a thorough initial assessment, he determined that further evaluations were necessary and subsequently sent her to the Medical Institute Renato Chaves for more comprehensive backup examinations to ensure her well-being.

Her ill-being, which was compounded by the seemingly relentless migraines, persisted for many agonizing days, ultimately followed by a profound sense of fatigue and weakness that left her feeling drained. Years later, despite her best efforts and various treatments, Claudomira still did not feel truly cured or at peace with her condition. "My health never came back to be the same since that night."

She is certainly not the only one to have passed through such a peculiar situation. Some experts estimate that thousands of people, including men and women alike, have suffered the terrifying attacks of the Chupa-Chupa in the tumultuous years between 1970 and 1980. Strikingly, these unsettling occurrences still happen today, though the frequency has diminished significantly over the years.

"Emotional and physical sequels are very common in these cases," “Indeed, that is correct,” affirmed Dr. Wellaide Cecim Carvalho, who took dedicated care of Claudomira during her time in the facility, ensuring she received the support and attention she needed.

Although she was initially skeptical and firmly believed that the occurrences of the Chupa-Chupa phenomena were merely a fabrication of popular belief or perhaps some form of witchcraft, Dr. Wellaide eventually found herself convinced of the veracity of these intriguing cases. This transformation in her perspective occurred when she was confronted with the undeniable reality of their increasing frequency, which became difficult for her to ignore or dismiss any longer.

"With the increase of hurt people, I started to give more attention each time to the existing injuries. I saw things that do not exist in my medical books," she said.

According to her observations, the victims of Chupa-Chupa exhibited unusual burn marks, not resembling those typically caused by fire or hot water, as she initially presumed, but showing characteristics remarkably similar to those produced by cobalt irradiation. The distinct patterns and unusual nature of the injuries led her to question their true origin and potential implications.

The injuries varied significantly in intensity, showcasing a spectrum of symptoms. Initially, it began with a pronounced and intense reddishness in the affected hit area, which is medically known as hyperemia. As time progressed, the skin in this particular region began lose hair, a condition referred to as alopecia, which is often alarming to witness. Subsequently, several days later, the skin started to peel off, revealing an underlying sensitivity that was previously masked.

In this particular period of development, observed Wellaide, it was indeed possible to clearly note the presence of small holes, which were strikingly similar to perforations made by needles.

One of the most fascinating and intriguing cases she took care of involved a lady who was experiencing serious cardiac problems. The moment she arrived at the doctor's office, she appeared to be extremely nervous and agitated. Without hesitation, she displayed her left breast, revealing two bizarre and unusual holes that intrigued the medical staff and raised numerous questions about their origin and significance.

She complained of giddiness, shortness of breath, and an overwhelming sense of weakness - characteristic symptoms that were already well-known by those unfortunate individuals who had been affected by the phenomenon. The doctor, trying to soothe her anxiety, attempted to calm her nerves, and after some reassurances, she eventually returned to her home for what she hoped would be a period of rest. However, at about 03:00 pm, an urgent call came in for Dr. Wellaide, summoning him back to the residence of the woman, who had suddenly become much sicker. Upon arrival, he found her whole body was utterly still, and she was gasping desperately for air, yet astonishingly, she did not present with a fever and showed no signs of vomiting. Recognizing the seriousness of her condition and the urgency of the situation, the doctor swiftly decided to transport her to a hospital in Belem for further evaluation and treatment.

Hours later, she received the awaited medical papers along with the official certificate of death, which had been forwarded by the Medical Institute Legal Renato Chaves. The documents clearly stated that a heart stroke had been identified as the cause of death. However, the truly intriguing fact is that at no time during her visits did the doctors in Belem mention anything about the injuries on her body. They did not even discuss whether those injuries had affected the results of any of the examinations, which left her with more questions than answers.

Regarding the possible effects of the unidentified flying objects on the supply of electricity, Sr. Geraldo Aranha de Oliveira, who is currently 37 years old, of the C.E.I.P.A. (Para Electricity Plant), explained in detail: "In 1977 the C.E.I.P.A. sub-station consisted of three Scania 125 kw engines supplying light to the city from 6 pm till midnight. I don’t recall having ever seen a UFO over the plant. I merely remember that, at that period, lots of lightning conductor rods were burnt out and, at times, some fuses too."

COMAR (Comando Areo Regional, the Regional Air Command of the Brazilian Air Forces) recently arrived in the scenic town of Balam, where it undertook an extensive series of carefully orchestrated research activities in the region. This initiative was conducted under the project name "Operation Plate," also famously known as "Operation Saucer." This operation aimed to investigate various unidentified aerial phenomena sightings reported in the area, contributing to a deeper understanding of the strange occurrences that have captivated both the public and the scientific community alike.

Captain Uyranga Bolivar Soares Nogueira de Hollanda Lima, the esteemed head of the information office, skillfully directed all the operations taking place in the region. Throughout the extensive investigations, the Air Force successfully obtained an impressive collection of four films and hundreds of striking photographs showcasing unidentified flying disks meticulously captured in the vast basin of Maraja.

They also played a significant role in supporting the local population by offering assistance from trained psychologists, aiming to effectively alleviate the widespread panic that had seized the entire region in the wake of the unusual phenomena. The beams of light emitted from the craft were described as being so bright and intense that they resembled those typically used to illuminate large night sporting events, casting an eerie glow across the landscape. These beams were always sharply defined, directed with perfect precision towards any target, be it houses, people, boats, trees, or even the Brazilian Air Force's helicopters that had been deployed over the island during the ongoing investigations.

On one fascinating occasion, one of these mysterious and powerful beams is reported to have unexpectedly forced one of the helicopters to make an emergency landing, although the exact technical reason behind this unusual occurrence is not provided or explained in detail.

According to a detailed statement provided by Sr. Sebastiao V. Miranda, a long-time former resident of Colares,, "the Brazilian Air Force spent more than 35 days in the town, and installed various devices near the Bakura beach."

Sra. Alba Camara Vilhena described what she experienced during this ordeal: "At the time of the "Chupa-chupa" everybody was scared to sleep at night, and so almost every night we went away to be with relatives. On one occasion some people saw one of the craft. It was round, and all luminous.

"Just at that moment, a helicopter of the F.A.B. (Brazilian Air Force) was flying quite near to our house. Then we saw the UFO direct a very powerful beam onto the helicopter, obliging it to land on the San Pedro Airfield. That happened at about 8:00 pm one evening."

Professor Raimundo Sebastiao Aranha said: "At that period I was closely connected with some of the Air Force's inquiries. They were seeking more information about the "Chupa-chupa."

He said that the Air Force had an impressive array of equipment at their disposal: their various vehicles included cars and helicopters, along with sophisticated radio transmitters, high-resolution cameras, powerful telescopic glasses, and much more. He recalls that, in addition to the rank and file Air Force recruits diligently following orders, there was indeed a whole group of officers overseeing operations, and he distinctly had the impression that there was a foreign individual among them, adding an air of mystery to the entire situation.

"The helicopters that appeared from time to time, bringing materials and personnel, attempted to chase the UFOs but without much success. Indeed, on the contrary, it was the UFOs that chased them!"

One fateful night several months later, on the evening of May 24, 1978, an inquisitive journalist and a skilled photographer, who had been assigned to cover the peculiar local UFO encounters, found themselves resting in their car. Despite the heavy rain that was pouring down around them, they were abruptly awakened "by a powerful beam of light which, however unbelievable it may seem, appeared to have passed directly through the metallic structure of the roof of the vehicle." Not surprisingly, the duo leapt out of the car in a rush to see for themselves, captivated by the otherworldly scene unfolding before them. They exclaimed that "a tube-shaped light beam, approximately [twenty-five centimetres] in diameter, was descending from above and directing its radiant glow onto the roof of the car, seamlessly passing through the metal panelling."

On this and other occasions, they successfully managed to capture numerous photographs, which they adamantly claim that their newspaper later sold to "a North-American group" for a significant profit.

On another enigmatic night, while attempting to utilize specialized flash equipment to capture photographs of one of these elusive craft, an extraordinary event occurred. The UFO emitted such a vivid and intense beam of light that it unexpectedly smashed the windscreen of their car, leaving everyone inside both astonished and bewildered by the sheer force of the spectacle.

Several newspapers started to write that the alleged UFOs were weather balloons, or secret satellites, although there was no possible reason to think that. Local authorities were of course extremely angry because of such articles. Elói Santos, councilman of the old Enclosure for bullfighting stated:

"It is not possible to deny that Belam is, today, a frightened city. We are not technicians, and we do not argue with the conclusion of the authorities. But we did surprise them with declarations of the witnesses who saw light crossing their roofs to penetrate in their skin, removing a little of blood and leaving visible marks of needles and burnings on their epidermis."

During the remarkable "Chupa-chupa" wave, a multitude of new and intriguing "sighting zones" emerged, including notable locations such as Pinheiro and São Bento in the State of Maranhao, as well as Viseu and Bragana in the State of Para. Some of these specific areas reached such a pronounced 'level of saturation' that it seemed rare for even a single night to pass without multiple UFO sightings occurring, captivating the attention of locals and investigators alike.

One of these intriguing "ufological epicentres" was located over the picturesque bay known as the Baía do Sol (Bay of the Sun), which had a significant and direct impact on the Island of Mosqueiro. This island, renowned for its natural beauty, is one of the most important of the region's islands, and it holds the distinction of being the largest, proudly belonging to the municipality of Belém.

Public concern was immense and palpable, as all the men banded together at night to organize watches and patrols, gathering around flickering bonfires and launching colorful fireworks, believing perhaps that these festive displays would somehow deter the mysterious craft hovering above. However, despite their best efforts and the bravado they exhibited, nothing seemed to effectively stop the UFOs; not even the Air Force’s film crews and their sophisticated cameras could capture a clear image, and even less could the persistent journalists from the Estado do Pará manage to shed light on the enigmatic phenomena plaguing their skies.

There were numerous frequent and regular sightings of mysterious mother-ships, enigmatic probes, and iconic flying saucers, all performing incredible and astonishing manoeuvers high above the vast expanse of the Barren landscape. The frequency and variety of these encounters left witnesses in awe, sparking curiosity and debate among both civilians and researchers alike.

A 61-year-old widow named Elisa da Silva, residing on the quiet Rua do Bacari, was one of the remarkable witnesses in 1977. One fateful night, while observing from the comfort of her home, she witnessed a mysterious flying saucer suddenly appear in the sky. Vivid beams of white light radiated from small windows or apertures on its surface, illuminating the surrounding area. Viewed from below, she described the vehicle as appearing quite dark and remarkably flat in shape. In an instant, it vanished towards the South, leaving no sound in its wake, enveloping the night in an eerie silence.

In the opinion of some of the dedicated members of the GUA (Amazonian Ufological Group), which is based in the vibrant city of Belém, there exists, or there may have existed for a considerable duration, at some point deep beneath the mystifying waters of the Baía do Sol ("Bay of the Sun"), a concealed and secretive base specifically designed for extraterrestrial probe craft. Such an intriguing idea could potentially account for the frequent and constant appearances, observed in recent years, of unidentified flying objects consistently over the expansive region.

In 1981, one woman, who had been exposed to the mysterious beams emitted from a UFO sighting in Colares, tragically died. However, it remains uncertain whether her death was directly related to the unusual attack or the phenomena surrounding it. The circumstances of her death have led to much speculation and intrigue within the community interested in unidentified aerial phenomena.

In 1986, not far from Colares, two persons on Crab Island were discovered "badly decomposed by heat" amid numerous sightings of balls of fire in the sky; the cause of death "not known" in either case.

Same area, different time: a "ball of fire" unexpectedly and seriously burned three men who were out cutting wood on Crab Island; tragically, one of the woodchoppers died as a result of the incident. This event serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers lurking in the wilderness, even in places that seem familiar and safe.

One of the two survivors, Edmundo, had a gaping electrical-type burn injury on the side of his chest, an almost perfect replica of the chest burn suffered by Jack Angel in Georgia in 1974.

In 1993, again in Colares, a 32-year-old missionary, and a 40-year-old domestic worker died, a month apart, as a result of close encounters with UFO; according to Ufologist Bob Pratt, these women were "both burned on the throat and the chest, as were most of the other people the doctor treated."

Said Pratt: "I know of about ten deaths that have some connection with UFO close encounters."

According to the USAF, there is not one proof of the reality of UFOs, and there is no evidence that they can be a danger. Tell that to the numerous people of Colares, and other places, that have experienced this Phenomena.
